Piz Buin • Description

Piz Buin is a popular mountain in the Silvretta range of the Alps on the border between Austria and Switzerland. At an elevation of 10,866 feet, it is the highest peak in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg.
Piz Buin can be reached from Wiesbadener Hütte in Austria, by crossing the Vermunt glacier and hiking over the Ochsentaler glacier to the Buin gap.
From the gap a zigzag path leads to the top, with a 65 foot steep step to surmount before reaching the summit area, which has a wooden cross on top.

Piz Buin • Personal Notes

Thanks to my parents, Sandra, Lisa, and I had the opportunity to spend three weeks in Europe, including some time in the Montafon region of the Austrian Alps.
We engaged in multiple activities, including hiking and mountain biking. One of the highlights was our climb of Piz Buin. We shared this experience with mountain guides Andi and Wolfi, and with the rest of the team: Daniel, Jörg, Judith, Matthias, and Monika.
At the end of our trip, we spent a few days in Paris, France.
